These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the LinkShell application (“the App”) provided by Pratik Bhoir, located in France (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Overview
LinkShell is a bookmarking and link management app available for iOS, macOS, and iPadOS. The App allows users to save, organize, and synchronize links through either:
- a personal CloudKit container tied to their Apple iCloud account; or
- a self-hosted Linkding server operated by the user.
The App does not collect or host personal data on developer servers.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using the App, you confirm that:
- you are at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction);
- you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy (insert link);
- your use of the App also constitutes agreement to Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.
3. License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal and non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and Apple’s App Store guidelines.
You may not:
- copy, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App;
- use the App in ways that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality;
- use the App to upload or distribute unlawful or harmful content;
- bypass security or licensing features.
4. User Data and Accounts
CloudKit (Apple iCloud)
- All data synced through the App’s CloudKit integration is stored in your private iCloud account.
- The developer cannot access, read, or modify this data.
- Apple manages authentication, storage, and security according to its iCloud Terms and Privacy Policy.
Linkding Server
- If you connect your own Linkding server, you are responsible for its configuration, security, and data management.
- The App merely provides an interface to your chosen server.
- The developer has no control or liability for data hosted on third-party or self-hosted servers.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
- LinkShell may offer premium features or subscriptions available through Apple’s StoreKit 2 framework.
- All payments, billing, and refunds are handled directly by Apple, under their own App Store terms.
- The developer does not access or store your payment details or Apple ID information.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings.
6. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the App, including its design, source code, graphics, and logos, remain the property of Pratik Bhoir or its licensors.
You may not use our trademarks, name, or branding without prior written consent.
7. Third-Party Components and Open Source Licenses
LinkShell uses open-source Swift packages that make the app possible. Each package is attributed below according to its license terms.

8. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- use the App in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws;
- not upload or share any illegal or malicious content;
- maintain the confidentiality of your own iCloud or Linkding credentials;
- not attempt to misuse, exploit, or harm the App, its services, or other users.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.
You may terminate your use at any time by deleting your account data (via the app’s bulk delete option) and uninstalling the App.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not guarantee:
- uninterrupted or error-free operation;
- that the App will meet your specific needs; or
- that any stored data (e.g., via iCloud or Linkding) will be free from loss due to external factors.
Apple, CloudKit, and Linkding each operate under their own service terms and conditions beyond the developer’s control.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pratik Bhoir shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
In jurisdictions where limitations of liability are restricted (such as France or the EU), liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts located in France, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update or modify these Terms occasionally.
The most current version will always be available in the App or on our website.
Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
